
Dr. Ahmed Jenaid Omar
Dr. Ahmed Jenaid Omar is currently the Chairman of Radiology Department and Director of Arab Board of Radiology Program in Hamad Medical Corporation. He earned his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) in 1992 and he finished his postgraduate education in 2001 at the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin, Ireland.
He has 15 years of experience working as a clinical radiologist. After his fellowship, he sub-specialized in interventional radiology and has gained considerable experience in most of the general interventional procedures including vascular, hepatobiliary, urological procedures, GI procedures, management of dialysis access, fibroid embolization, image guided biopsies and drainages.
He has introduced new procedures such as venous procedures, radiofrequency ablation of hepatic tumors with possible other future applications. More recently, he has also introduced GI procedures such as image guided gastronomies and gastrojejunostomies and gastric fundal varices treatment (BRTO).
Aside from Clinical Radiology, his other main interest is education, where he led the introduction of Arab Board of Radiology training program in the Radiology Department. As of now, he is already training residents in their department under his supervision.
He has completed numerous publications and scientific publications starting from the year 2002.
